LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Fourteen persons were injured when their passenger van rammed a streetlight post on a center island of the diversion road in Barangay Domoit, this city, before dawn on Thursday, August 15.

FOURTEEN persons were injured in a pre-dawn road accident in Lucena City, Quezon on Thursday, August 15.
Police identified the victims as Benjamin Balicot Jr., 40, driver, and passengers Ignacio Morillo, 41; Agripina Arcueno, 40; Patricia Arcueno, 21; Paul Francisco, 30; Fely Reyes, 39; Marinel Colorado;
Julie Francisco, 37; Xyra Cathleen Padilla, 9; Akira Fhiel Reyes, 8; Althea Ada Camacho, 16; Ronilyn Capoquian, 23; Jinky Damayo, 36, and Darwin Tagubaras, 34.
Investigation said the van was traversing the Pan-Philippine Highway Diversion Road on the way to Bicol when it suddenly veered to the leftr and crashed into the streetlight post at 2:40 a.m.
The victims were taken to the Quezon Medical Center here.
The vehicle’s front was wrecked and the street light pole incurred intensive damage.
Balicot faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
