BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested 10 wanted persons in a one-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation in Surigao del Norte on Tuesday, August 13.

Surigao del Norte police director Police Col. Laudemer M. Laude said in a report to Police Regional Office-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro that the suspects were eight males, one female, and one minor from the municipalities of Gigaquit, Del Carmen, Santa Monica, Claver, Dapa, and Socorro.
Laude said they face cases of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, rape, attempted homicide, grave oral defamation, estafa, and illegal gambling.
The suspects were apprehended on warrants of arrest issued by various courts in Surigao del Norte.
“The SDN PNP will not relent in targeting individuals involved in criminal activities and wanted by the authorities,” Laude said.
“We will intensify our campaign to hunt down and track those with existing warrants of arrest, and this serves as a warning to all law offenders: Surrender yourself at the nearest police station in your locality.”
“By arresting these individuals, we aim to deliver the justice that the victims deserve,” he added.
The suspects are in the custody of arresting units for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, police arrested eight suspected drug pushers in Butuan City, Siargao Island, Agusan del Norte, and Agusan del Sur on Tuesday, August 13.
Seized from the suspects were suspected shabu worth more than P170,000, PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.
Suspects face drug-related charges.
Nazarro lauded apprehending units for the arrest of the suspects.
“PRO-13 beefs up its intelligence-driven operations to minimize, if not fully eradicate, the proliferation of illicit drugs in the region,” he said. “More successful law enforcement operations will be recorded in the coming days.”
