Man nabbed in Bacoor for blackmailing ex-BF with nude photos, videos, for sex

CAVITE – Authorities apprehended a man in Bacoor City on Tuesday, Aug. 13, for allegedly blackmailing his ex-boyfriend with nude photos and videos, demanding sex in return.

Elements of the Cavite Provincial Anti-Cybercrime Response Team (CPACRT), Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 4A, and Bacoor Component City Police Station (CCPS) conducted an entrapment operation in a hotel in Barangay Maliksi III, leading to the arrest of the suspect identified as alias Jerico.

The investigator-on-case Staff Sergeant Zosimo Asido Jr. of CPACRT told the Manila Bulletin that they received a report from the victim, alias Gab, alleging that his ex-boyfriend, alias Jerico, for blackmail. According to the report, alias Jerico threatened to send Gab's nude photos and videos to his friends and family unless he agreed to meet for sex.

Alias Gab had previously reported the incident to the barangay, where a settlement was attempted. Despite this, however, alias Jerico allegedly sent Gab's explicit photos to his contacts.

Alias Jerico reportedly continued to threaten alias Gab that he would continue distributing his compromising materials if he did not agree to meet him at a hotel to have sex.

Unbeknownst to Jerico, Gab had already alerted the authorities, leading to the entrapment operation where the suspect’s cell phone was confiscated.

Alias Jerico is now temporarily detained at Bacoor CCPS and is facing charges for violating the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 and committing grave coercion, both in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
