Las Piñas cops arrest suspect in possession of gun replica, explosives

Members of the Las Piñas City Police Station Intelligence Section (SIS) apprehended a suspect in possession of a gun replica and hand grenade on Monday night, August 12.

The suspect was identified as “Rigor," 33, and was arrested at around 7:30 p.m. in Barangay Pulanglupa Uno, Las Piñas City.

Las Piñas police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla said police officers were conducting a casing and surveillance operation when they saw the suspect holding what appeared to be a firearm.

Upon approaching the suspect, the police discovered a gun replica and a hand grenade concealed inside his sling bag, prompting them to immediately arrest him.

Rigor was then taken into custody and the recovered pieces of evidence were handed over to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) for proper documentation, as well as the filing of charges against the suspect.
