Janine Gutierrez positively glowed as she shared insights into her wonderful relationship with fellow actor Jericho Rosales.

During an interview for the upcoming action-drama series "Lavender Fields" at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City on Aug. 13, Janine confirmed that she and Jericho were dating.

Asked about her reaction when Jericho revealed they were dating, Janine said: "It's sweet and refreshing."

Despite the 10-year age gap, Janine, 34, believes Jericho is a rare gem.

"I guess so. One of the things I like about him is that he's so chill and down-to-earth. He's so friendly with people. He doesn't care kung nasaan ka or kung maraming tao. He's so outgoing, and I guess outgoing din siya sa mga kuwento," she said. "So, consistent ang personality niya."

Janine revealed that she and Jericho went to the National Museum because he had not been there.

"Ako talaga, I enjoyed museums. But if you're an actor, most of the time sa abroad ka lang pupunta ng museum. So I told him na may friend ako sa National Museum. Sabi ko if you want to go, we can go and ipapakilala kita sa friend ko.

"But I told him, 'National Museum yun ha baka maraming tayo. Pero sabi niya hindi. So game lang siya sa lahat. So that's really cool about him considering everybody recognizes him," she said.

Janine said being with Jericho in the series would make her life easier as an actor.

"Hindi na ako mahihiyang sampalin siya sa eksena kasi close kami. We started talking before the show kasi yung role namin sa series ay mag-asawa.

"So yung first time na nag-usap kami is para pag-usapan yung mga characters namin sa series. At comfortable na kami sa isa't isa kasi yung first scene namin may kissing scene na. Tapos naka-swimsuit pa ako. So I appreciate the fact that he took the time to discuss our characters," Janine said.

Janine was previously in a relationship with Paulo Avelino, while Jericho was separated from his wife, Kim Jones.

Now that she's close to Jericho, Janine said: "Masaya pala. Chill lang."

Despite being close together, the award-winning actress said their priority is work.

"Aligned talaga na priority ang work. We're so excited lalo na si Jericho ang tagal na hinintay ng mga Kapamilya. We're both into the project na kung nabasa na ba namin yung project," she said.

On their shared interests, Janine said that she and Jericho were family-oriented, loves pets and the simple things.

Now that she and Jericho have confirmed dating, Janine said she felt light. "It was unexpected. It's nice na hindi naman siya heavy. Parang cool din naman pala to share these things."

Janine believes in the institution of marriage, but she has yet to set an age for settling down.

"Kasal agad," said Janine as she laughed again.
