Taguig City 2nd district Rep. Amparo Maria “Pammy” Zamora has chided former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque for supposedly failing to foresee himself being linked to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) issue using his so-called "crystal ball".
Zamora had this to say in response to Roque's recent prediction that--based on his visions from his crystal ball--Vice President Sara Duterte would face an impeachment case.
An impeachment complaint against a public official emanates from the House of Representatives, where "Young Guns" bloc member Zamora holds office. The assistant majority leader flatly denied the existence of an impeachment plot against the Vice President in the 300-plus strong chamber.
“Wala pong kahit na anumang intentions na ma-impeach si VP Sara, as in wala,” Zamora said in a press conference Tuesday, Aug. 13
(There are no such intentions to impeach VP Sara, as in there's nothing.)
The Taguig congresswoman then asked: "“Ngayon, bakit hindi niya nakita sa crystal ball niya na nakadawit pala siya sa POGO? ‘Yan ang itanong ninyo."
(Now, how come he didn't see in his crystal ball that he is involved in the POGO issue? That's what you should ask him.)
Roque recently faced controversy after a house in Tuba, Benguet--reportedly owned by him--was raided, leading to the arrest of two Chinese nationals linked to an illegal POGO operation in Bamban, Tarlac.
During a Senate hearing, the one-time Kabayan Party-list congressman admitted having an “interest” in the corporation that owns the Benguet property.
Regarding the alleged plan to impeach Vice President Duterte, Roque said that it will ultimately fail on the strength of her high trust and approval ratings.
