Three flood control systems will soon be constructed in the City of Malolos in Bulacan to help address the perennial problem of flooding in the province which is considered a catch basin, according to Mayor Christian D. Natividad.
Natividad said the bidding for the flood control systems is underway. The first that is up for bidding is the flood control system to be installed in Barangay Mambog worth P100,000,000 which is a project of the city government and Bulacan First District Representative Danilo A. Domingo.
The two other flood control systems will cover 10 villages from Barangay Mambog to Sitio Pinalagdan in Paombong.
The systems will include the construction of floodgates with pumping stations which will help reduce the impact of tidal flooding in the city.
These flood control project will help block rising water and prevent it from reaching the public market and the villages of Bulihan and Longos.
Natividad also announced an ongoing road improvement project along Paseo Del Congreso to the Malolos Cathedral and the repair of the Malolos Crossing by the City Engineer's Office.
More facilities will be built around the City Hall which will include a skating park, chess plaza, tennis court, and others.
Natividad added that three new vehicles were distributed by the city government to the police force.
