DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte here said on Sunday, August 11, that he does not know the hideout of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy amid reports saying that the fugitive religious leader is hiding in his 30-hectare Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Compound in Barangay Buhangin, this city.

In a pre-recorded episode of “Basta Dabawenyo” uploaded on his Facebook page, Duterte said that he does not know if Quiboloy is still here.
Duterte added that Quiboloy is hiding somewhere outside this city, where several law enforcers are actively seeking his arrest.
“Wala ko kahibalo. Siguro kung ako sa si pastor dili pud siguro ko dre og asa ko nila ginapangita. Ngano dire man ko motago? (I don’t know. Maybe, if I were pastor, I would not stay here where they are looking for me. Why would I hide here?)” he said.
Quiboloy is facing charges for child abuse and qualified human trafficking, along with co-accused Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes. Paulene was arrested last July 11 at her residence in Emily Homes Subdivision in Barangay Cabantian here.
Two warrants of arrest were issued by the Davao City Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 12 and Pasig City RTC on April 3 and April 11, respectively, against the suspects.
The Supreme Court Second Division ordered last May 28 the transfer of the two criminal cases from the Davao RTC to the Quezon City RTC.
Duterte said that Quiboloy should utilize his resources to escape the country and hide in one of his churches abroad.
“Probably, with the resources (that pastor has), daghan mana sya og simbahan all around, mo-chill lang sa siya laing lugar, laing nasud ana ba (he has several churches all around, he should lie low in another place or in another country),” he said.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Davao failed to find Quiboloy after searching the King Dome and residential quarters at the KOJC Compound on Friday, August 9.
