Manila Bulletin to host inaugural Sustainability Focus Session at UST

Manila Bulletin is set to further its commitment to promoting sustainability awareness with the launch of the first-ever Manila Bulletin Sustainability Focus Session. The event is scheduled to take place on September 24, 2024, at the Dr. Robert C. Sy Grand Ballroom, located within the Blessed Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Building at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila.

Manila Bulletin has been actively involved in championing sustainability-awareness initiatives. This latest event builds on the momentum of the two highly successful editions of the MB Sustainability Forum, which showcased a wide array of private companies from various industries and their efforts in sustainability.

The upcoming Manila Bulletin Sustainability Focus Session will shine a spotlight on specific industries, particularly those involved in renewable energy and green building practices. With the theme "Power and Real Estate in a Green-Centric Future," the session will emphasize the importance of sustainable practices in these sectors. To date, the notable institutions and brands with commendable sustainability programs to be featured are Aboitiz Power, Arthaland, Ayala Land Inc., Megaworld Hotels and Resorts, RLC Residences, and Shell.

This year, UST has partnered with Manila Bulletin as the academic institution for the event, with an expected audience comprising students and faculty from the College of Engineering and College of Architecture. This collaboration underscores the importance of engaging young minds in discussions about sustainability and empowering them to be the future leaders of the movement.

Philip Cu Unjieng, the project lead of the Manila Bulletin Sustainability Focus Session, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "This Focus Session is not just an event; it’s a platform to showcase where ideas meet action. We are bringing together industry leaders, students, and the public to discuss and promote sustainability practices that will shape our future. At Manila Bulletin, we believe in leading by example and providing the space for meaningful dialogue on environmental stewardship."

With its continued efforts in sustainability advocacy, Manila Bulletin reaffirms its role as a key player in driving awareness and action towards a greener, more sustainable future. The Sustainability Focus Session is poised to be a landmark event, inspiring both industry leaders and young advocates to collaborate in building a sustainable Philippines.
