Korean actress Son Ye-jin to return with new film

Korean actress Son Ye-jin will be making her comeback with a new film.

Her agency, MS Team Entertainment, announced that the actress, who is the wife of actor Hyun Bin, will begin filming the movie “I Can’t Help It.”

“I Can’t Help It” will star Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin as husband and wife. It will also star Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran , Cha Seung-won and Yoo Yeon-seok.

The movie will be directed by renowned filmmaker Park Chan-wook and will start shooting on Aug. 17.

This will be the first time that Son Ye-jin and Lee Byung-hun will work together.

“I Can’t Help It” is about Man-soo (Lee Byung-hun) who is working for a paper company but is suddenly fired. He struggles to find a new job.

“Lee Byung-hun will show off an overwhelming performance filled with the desperation and madness of a father driven to the edge of a cliff,” said distributor CJ ENM, Korean media reported.

Son Ye-jin will play Man-soo’s bright and strong wife Mi-ri. This is Son Ye-jin’s first appearance in a film by Park Chan-wook. This will be her comeback in two years after giving birth.

As Mi-ri, she will take the lead in protecting her family in the face of her husband’s unemployment crisis.

The film is based on the American novel “The Ax” by Donald E. Westlake.

Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin got married on March 31, 2022 and she gave birth to a son on Nov. 27, 2022.
