According to the police, his breathalyzer test result showed his blood alcohol content at 0.227 percent, way higher than the license revocation level of 0.08 percent.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul will soon summon Suga to the station to investigate the circumstances of his drinking and the amount of alcohol he consumed.
On X, the #SugaChallenge trended where users posted photos of them showing consumption of alcohol in their cars.
“WE SUPPORT U KING #SugaChallenge,” one X user posted along with a bottle of tequila.
Another posted, “Friday night #SugaChallenge ALWAYS WITH YOU MIN YOONGI” along with a bottle of Corona beer.
Even Korean media reported the #SugaChallenge stating that it came from BTS ARMYs.
BTS ARMYs issued a statement to deny that they are involved in the #SugaChallenge.
“From BTS ARMY: In light of recent events, a number of individuals associated with various music fandoms…who have expressed unfavorable opinions towards BTS, have initiated a trend intended to ridicule a specific situation,” according to a statement shared by BTS ARMYs on Facebook and X.
It added, “This trend entails the sharing of images portraying the consumption of alcohol within a vehicle, despite the fact that the initial incident did not occur in a car. It is important to note that although ARMY will continue their support for all seven members, ARMY was not involved in this trend, as it is essential to handle such matters with sensitivity and consideration for all parties involved. Thank you. ARMY.”
To combat #SugaChallenge, they used the hashtags #FAKECHALLENGE, #Its_Not_ARMY, #조작된챌린지 #진짜아미아님 and #koreanmediabeprofessional.
