The chairman of Barangay Lacquios, Arayat, Pampanga was gunned down on Sunday night, August 11.
The Police Regional Office-3 identified the victim as Norberto C. Lumbang.

Initial investigation said the victim was inside the barangay hall at around 8:30 p.m. when four men onboard a black Toyota Innova with license plates NAU-2713 arrived.
Three men disembarked and one them armed with a long firearm fired at the victim who died on the spot.
The suspects fled and a concerned citizen reported the incident to the police at around 9 p.m.
PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., in a statement, said they have initiated a comprehensive investigation of the incident.
Hidalgo vowed to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for Lumbang, who reportedly planned to run for vice mayor of Arayat in the mid-term elections next year.
A flash alarm has been issued and a dragnet operation is underway to track down and apprehend the perpetrators, he added.
The PRO-3 condoled with Lumbang's family.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Chairman Lumbang during this difficult time. Rest assured we will deploy all available resources and work tirelessly until those responsible are brought to justice,” Hidalgo said. “The safety and security of our communities remain our highest priority” he assured.
The victim's family sought justice and urged Hidalgo to fast-track the investigation.
