The deliberation was attended by Taguig Police acting chief Cor. Christopher Olazo and Taguig Anti-Drug Abuse Office (TADAO) head Hilario Cruz.
“Bagamat malayo pa sa pagiging drug-freena barangay, ang inisyatibong ito ng ating kapitan na si Gerome Michael San Pedro, Committee Chairman on Peace and Order na si Kagawad Chris Dela Paz, at ang pagtutulungan ng BADAC staffs sa pangunguna ni Tata Ernesto Rañola ay malaking hakbang sa pagsugpo sa ipinagbabawal na gamot (Although far from being a drug-free barangay, this initiative of our captain Gerome Michael San Pedro, , Committee Chairman on Peace and Order Kagawad Chris Dela Paz, and through the cooperation of BADAC staffs led by Tata Ernesto Rañola is a big step to suppress illegal drugs),” Barangay Napindan posted on Facebook.
According to the city government, a drug-cleared status is given to a barangay previously considered drug-affected due to the presence of drug personalities, illegal drug users, drug pushers, and drug dens. The problems were successfully addressed through verified efforts and campaigns.
Last July 29, the Taguig Police confiscated 16.6 grams of shabu worth P112,880 and arrested a man in Barangay Sta. Ana.
TADAO ensures that officials, personnel, and residents in all 38 barangays benefit from key initiatives like preventive education, drug-free workplace, treatment and rehabilitation, and barangay drug clearing programs.
