Sexagenarian beaten to death in Pangasinan

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – A 65-year-old woman died after she was hit in the head multiple times by her younger brother with a bamboo stick in Barangay Lipit, Manaoag, Pangasinan on Friday afternoon, August 9.

Police identified the victim as Leticia Soriano-Idor.

Investigation said Idor was passing in front of the house of the suspect, Antonio Soriano, 55, when she was suddenly attacked.

Antonio fled and Leticia was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead due to fatal head injuries.

Police said the suspect was arrested during a pursuit operation.

The bamboo stick used in the attack was recovered and taken to the police station for proper disposition.

Police said motive of the incident was an old grudge between the siblings.
