Ranking congressmen gave heavy praise to House Speaker Martin Romualdez following his 16-percentage point surge in net public satisfaction rating based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Senior Deputy Speaker Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker Quezon 2nd district Rep. David “Jay-jay” Suarez, and Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe all agree that what Romualdez is doing in the lower chamber is more than just simple leadership.

“Speaker Romualdez has been a guiding light for the House of Representatives and the Filipino people,” Gonzales said.

“His leadership is not just about passing laws; it’s about understanding the needs of every Filipino and translating that into meaningful action. The rise in his satisfaction rating is a reflection of the trust and confidence that our country has in his vision and his heart,” he added.

Conducted from June 23 to July 1, 2024, among 1,500 adults nationwide with a ±2.5 percent margin of error, the SWS survey found that 53 percent of respondents were satisfied with the Speaker’s performance, while 24 percent were dissatisfied.

The survey marked a significant 16-point increase from his previous net satisfaction rating of 13 percent in March 2024 to 29 percent in the latest survey.

“We have witnessed firsthand how Speaker Romualdez works tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and acted upon. His commitment goes beyond politics—it's deeply personal,” Suarez said.

The lawmaker from Quezon province’ said that the Speaker “carries the weight of our nation’s hopes and dreams, and this latest survey shows that the people feel his sincerity and his drive to make a difference".

For his part, Dalipe says the Speaker’s impact has been felt not only in legislative front but also on the lives of ordinary Filipinos.

“Speaker Romualdez has been more than just a leader; he’s been a champion for those who often feel forgotten,” Dalipe said of the Leyte 1st district congressman.

“His ability to connect with people from all walks of life and push for legislation that truly matters to them is what sets him apart. The survey is more than just numbers—it’s a testament to the Speaker’s genuine care for our people,” Dalipe said.

As the 300-plus strong House of Representatives moves forward for the remainder of the 19th Congress, Gonzales, Suarez, and Dalipe expressed their unwavering support for Speaker Romualdez.

“Speaker Romualdez is not just leading us—he’s inspiring us. And that inspiration is something we all feel, something that drives us to serve our country with the same passion and purpose he brings every day,” Gonzales said.
