Marian Rivera and Gabby Padilla tied as winners for Best Actress at the Cinemalaya 2024 awarding ceremonies last Sunday night.

"Birthday ko po bukas. Salamat po sa napakagandang regalo. Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat," said Marian as she accepted the award.

Marian, who played the role of a teacher in the film "Balota," continued: "Sa lahat po ng Teacher Emmy na matapang na ginagawa ang lahat para maproktetahan ang boto ng sambayanan kahit pa ang sarili nilang buhay ang malaan sa panganib. Teacher Emmy, para sa 'yo 'to."

Gabby was praised for her performance in "Kono Basho."
