Drug pushers caught, weapons seized at port in Northern Samar
TACLOBAN CITY – Three suspected drug pushers were apprehended, leading to the discovery of high-powered firearms and explosives, on Friday, August 9, at Allen Port in Allen, Northern Samar, a day after suspected shabu worth P61 million was found there.

Police intercepted an L-300 van driven by a 32-year-old man from Taguig City, accompanied by two passengers from Cotabato City and Maguindanao who reportedly dropped the contraband at the port.

Upon inspection at the Allen Municipal Police Station, with the assistance of a Police Service-Explosive Detection Dog (EDD), a cache of weapons and explosives was uncovered in the vehicle.
Seized items included assembled M16 rifles, cartridge 40mm AVACOR, rifle parts, military uniforms, assorted ammunition, IDs, ATM cards, and cash.
Police Col. Sonnie Omengan, Northern Samar police chief, said that charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives will be filed against the suspects.
The operation stemmed from the discovery of P61 million worth of shabu in an abandoned suitcase at the FastCat Ferry Terminal in Barangay Kinabranan Zone II, Allen, on Thursday, August 8.
The contraband was found and reported to the Philippine Coast Guard by a 30-year-old port officer from Northern Samar.
