DepEd, Go Negosyo to sustain partnership on mentoring program
Despite the change in leadership in the Department of Education (DepEd), Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said that its entrepreneur programs will continue under newly appointed DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara.

In a statement from Go Negosyo, it revealed that Concepcion and Angara already met last Aug. 6 to discuss the current programs being implemented as part of DepEd’s and Go Negosyo’s partnership.
“We should give education and MSMEs all the help they need – these sectors have a big role to play in the future of our country. I am glad that we have Sec. Angara to help us continue with these programs,” Concepcion said.
In 2023, Go Negosyo started partnering with DepEd to provide entrepreneurial mentorships in the senior high school level.
Among its many programs are Youthpreneur, which conducts entrepreneurship mentoring among senior high school students nationwide.
The Boardroom Experience, on the other hand, gives students real-life mentoring experiences from the country’s top CEOs, while the Pampaaralang Taniman ng Agribida promotes agripreneurship in public schools.
Go Negosyo also launched Mentoring the Mentors, which aims to integrate practical entrepreneurship knowledge in teaching skills.
These initiatives were part of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in November 2023.
According to the MOA, the initiatives hope “to promote entrepreneurial skills development among learners, teachers, and parents with the end goal of a better appreciation of agriculture and entrepreneurship, harnessing economic resilience, and capacitating teachers who are required to teach entrepreneurship in schools and parents who will support the experiential learning of their children.”
So far, the programs have already reached “thousands of learners” in cities across the country.
Aside from Angara and Concepcion, the meeting was also attended by Go Negosyo Executive Director Thermina Akram, DepEd Chief of Staff Fatima Panontongan, DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching Gina Gonong, and DepEd Assistant Secretary for Partnerships Cillette Liboro-Co.
