LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – A kagawad or councilor of Barangay Maguiron, Guinobatan, Albay was gunned down on Sunday morning, August 11.
Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-5, identified the victim as Salvador Mortega Pardiñas, alias Badoy, 51.
Investigation said the victim was sitting near a bakery in Guinobatan when a man approached and shot the victim several times.
The suspect fled and the victim was first taken to the Garcia-Gata Hospital in Guinobatan and later transferred to the Josefina B. Duran Albay Provincial Hospital (JBDAPH) in Ligao City, Albay where he was declared dead.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
