1Munti party bares official candidates for 2025 local election in Muntinlupa

The One Muntinlupa (1Munti) political party revealed its official candidates for the local election in Muntinlupa on May 12, 2025.

1Munti, founded three years ago, has been accredited by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as an official party-list group.

“1Munti is blessed to have a deep bench of qualified leaders who also embrace progressive politics devoid of turncoatism and patronage. Those who aspired to join us through a criteria-based selection process willingly signed a statement of commitment wherein, regardless of the outcome of their application, they will continue to endorse and fully support the entire slate chosen by the party for 2025 election,” according to a statement by the party.

The official candidates by 1Munti in next year’s election are incumbent Ruffy Biazon for mayor, incumbent Jaime Fresnedi for congressman, and Poblacion Barangay Captain Allen Fresnedi-Ampaya for vice mayor. Fresnedi-Ampaya is also the president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in Muntinlupa.

“We received four applications for two vacancies in the District One slate. Applicants from Barangay Poblacion were Mekong Sapitula who was a two-term Kagawad and former SK Chairperson; incumbent Kagawad Caloy Tadefa, and Nurse Amanda Camilon,” 1Munti party stated.

The party received eight applicants in District 2.

“Two of them came from Barangay Buli – SK Federation President Jonas Abadilla and Kaye Anne Rongavilla, a women and youth advocate. There were three applicants from Barangay Alabang: they were Kagawad and former SK Chairperson Ahya Dancel, former youth leader Naldmar Gravador, and Atty. Reggie Landrito who, while not having an elected post, has launched programs for children with disability and has been featured in different news outlets for her community-based literacy project,” it said.

“Our fellow Muntinlupeños, as we draw near to the day that we once again choose who will lead the city, we encourage you to give attention not to the sweetest promises but to the carefully and intelligently crafted policies and programs that are backed up with concrete action plans and proven accomplishments. We invite you scrutinize our candidates and look into our public service track record,” 1Munti party stated.

It added, “2022-2025 is the Pandemic Recovery period for 1Munti. 2025 will see us moving forward and upward beyond recovery. It will be the springboard of our progress, driving us towards a future of prosperity and fulfillment.”
