18-year-old wanted NPA rebel arrested in Quezon

INFANTA, Quezon – Police arrested a New People's Army (NPA) rebel wanted for attempted murder and arson in Barangay Comon here on Friday morning, August 9.

Police identified the suspect as Banini de la Cruz, 18, alias Gea, a resident of Barangay Lumutan, General Nakar, Quezon.

De la Cruz was named in the Periodic Status Report Listed (PSRL) and a member of Platun Julian, Kilusang Larangan Gerilya (KLG)-Narciso, Sub-Regional Military Area 4-A, Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC).

The suspect was arrested on warrants of arrest dated September 2, 2021 issued by Judge Marylou Meneses, acting judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 65, Infanta, Quezon.

Bail was P120,000 and P72,000 for the attempted murder and arson cases, respectively.

De la Cruz was the No. 9 most wanted person on the provincial level in Quezon.
