Sputnik gang member arrested for causing commotion, cursing policemen
The Manila Police District (MPD) operatives arrested a member of the “Sputnik Gang" after causing a commotion and cursing policemen in Intramuros, Manila on Thursday, August 1.
MPD identified the gang member as Gerald Gallego, 22.
According to the police report, MPD personnel were conducting a mobile patrol around 2 a.m. when they saw the suspect shouting in a boisterous manner for unknown reason.
Police said the suspect was causing disturbance and panic to passersby.
They approached and advised the suspect to lower his voice, but the suspect ignored them
When the police got off their car, the suspect started shouting and cursing the police officers.
"Due to the rudeness attitude of the suspect, the arresting police officers took effect the arrest," MPD said.
The arresting police officers frisked the suspect and recovered from his possession an improvised firearm also known as "pen gun" and one live ammunition in his pocket.
The suspect was presented before the Manila prosecutor for violation of Article 155 (Alarm and Scandal) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act).
