P20.3-M shabu, marijuana seized in 6 months


BACOLOD CITY – Police seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P20.3 million in Negros Occidental from January to June.

Confiscated were almost three kilos of shabu valued at P20,302,535.6, 38.865 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P5,441.1, and 139 fully grown marijuana valued at P27,800.

The Negros Occidental police arrested 598 suspected drug pushers in 486 operations, 55 individuals more compared to the 537 in 431 operations during the same period last year. 

The value of drugs recovered increased by P8,135,368.4 from P12,167,167.2 a year ago. 

Police Capt. Wilma Silva, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said the strict observance of the Integrated Police Deployment Plan (IPDP) and their advocacy support group Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) led to their significant accomplishment against illegal drugs.
