ILOILO CITY – A cancer treatment facility will soon rise in Capiz province.

The provincial government led by Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro is embarking on a public-private partnership (PPP) to construct the first cancer facility in Capiz.
Castro turned over the P1.6-million share of the provincial government to the Capiz Lions Club, Capiz Lioness Lions Club and the Lions Club International Foundation in a ceremony last July 30.
The cancer facility will be constructed within the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) in the provincial capital of Roxas City.
Castro said the cancer facility will serve residents of the towns of Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao, Ivisan, Jamindan, Ma-ayon, Mambusao, Pan-ay, Panitan, Pilar, Pontevedra, President Roxas, Sapian, Sigma, and Tapaz, as well as Roxas City.
According to Castro, Capiznons will be able to avail of cancer treatment and no longer have to travel all the way to Iloilo City.
The cancer facility is one of the key health programs of the Capiz Provincial Health Office under the Castro administration.
