BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested an Indian fugitive after two years of hiding in Barangay Taculing here on Monday, July 8.
The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Joginder Geong, alias Joginder Geyong, who was also using the fake name Kant Gupta and had a fraudulent Nepalese passport.

Police Capt. Dax Santillan, head of Police Station 6, said the suspect arrived here in 2022 and opened a small business.
Santillan said they received information and monitored the suspect who was staying in a rented house for two weeks.
Geong is allegedly a notorious criminal with a history of serious offenses such as murder, attempted murder, extortion, and robbery in India.
He also allegedly led an organized crime syndicate and has been sentenced to life imprisonment for violating arms laws in India.
Santillan could not confirm if the suspect indeed has these cases in India.
He said the suspect violated the Philippine Immigration Law, Commonwealth Act No. 613, for being an undesirable alien and fugitive from in India.
The suspect has been turned over to the custody of Bureau of Immigration for proper disposition.
