Apart from UP-Diliman, NU-Manila, Jose Rizal University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Makati were the other early entrants for the NCR qualifier.

Holy Angel University and Lyceum Subic Bay enlisted for the Luzon qualifier while University of San Jose Recoletos and Central Philippine University are leading the entrants in the Visayas joust.

Mindanao State University-Iligan and University of Science and Technology Southern Philippines, on the other hand, are leading the cast for the Mindanao leg.

Organizers Dark League Studios said registrations remain open for the four esports titles featured in the National Championship, namely Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Valorant, League of Legends and Tekken 8.

Schools can also get affiliated with DLS, especially that apart from the tournament, a lot is also in store for participating schools in Estudyante Esports.

“It’s not just tournaments we're talking about. There will be loads of activities and programs designed to boost school pride and spirit. This is more than a competition, it's an esports celebration of our schools and local communities,” said DLS chief executive officer AC Valdenor.

“Through The National Championships, we are fulfilling Dark League Studios’ thrust and intent to really bring esports more accessible to students and schools,” said DLS program director Deng Kibanoff.

“We see esports as the sports of the future, bridging everyone, young and old, students and teachers in a common bond for the love of esports, creating student-life balance.

“Beyond having fun and excitement playing the games, we believe that the esports industry will give opportunities for students wishing to build their career in esports, and follow their dreams and passion.”
