Skeletal remains of drowning victim unearthed

PEÑABLANCA, Cagayan – The skeletal remains of a man who drowned a year ago was unearthed in Barangay Dodan here.

Police said a backhoe was digging in a quarry site when a human skull and skeleton were discovered.

Investigation said an individual drowned on a river in Barangay Minanga. The victim's remains were not found. 

A man named Jun Jun, was reported missing in the area in July 2023.

The victim's wife confirmed that the remains were that of husband. 

He was identified based on his underwear and shape of his teeth.

The victim was swept away by strong water current on his way home after fishing on the river.
