“There’s definitely pressure. But like my coach back home in Canada said, ‘Pressure is privilege.’ Hopefully I get to enjoy this opportunity and deal with whatever comes my way,” said Torres, a three-time Canadian Athletic Association champion libero with Brock University.

Torres, who traces her roots from Cavite and Tarlac, added she is thankful for the chance to be part of Creamline, a team known for being one of the most intact and solid lineups in the league.

“It’s a great opportunity to be part of this team and to learn from other people who have been in winning situations, so hopefully I could bring my talent and skills and add to their winning streak,” she said.

She is also looking forward to interacting and meeting the fans, admitting that she is aware of how massive the team’s fan base is.

“It’s one big family. I’d like to meet a lot of them and feel their passion,” Torres said.

Creamline skipper Alyssa Valdez is excited to be working with Torres.

“It was a very hard decision for our team kasi syempre being in the last pick in the first round, ikaw rin yung maghihintay din talaga kung sino yung pwede at kailangan ng team mo,” Valdez said.

“But knowing Aleiah -- we’ve met her also -- yung grit nya rin andun and yung international experience would probably help us also. The culture she has would definitely be an addition to our team,” she added.

Torres was the only selection of Creamline as the Cool Smashers decided to pass in the second round.
