CAOAYAN, Ilocos Sur – Officials on Monday, July 8, led the destruction of P632.6-million shabu discovered on the West Philippine Sea in this province and Ilocos Norte recently.

Gov. Jeremias C. Singson, Undersecretary Moro Virgilio Lazo, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief, and Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Ilocos police director, led the destruction of 93 packs of shabu weighing 93 kilos through incineration in a crematorium in this town.
Evangelista highlighted the importance of joint effort by stakeholders and agencies in eliminating drugs from communities.
He thanked the public for helping achieve a drug-free Region 1.
Evangelista said the recoveries are a big step in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs and demonstrates the region's commitment to creating a drug-free environment through coordinated efforts and community support.
