This July, SM Megamall embarks on a significant redevelopment to enhance the shopping and dining experience for its shoppers, beginning with its overall aesthetics, designed by the renowned international architectural firm Benoy, known for iconic projects like Icon Siam in Thailand and Jewel Changi in Singapore.

Inspired by the Philippines being an archipelago hence the “country of a thousand islands," the project aims to create a unique and cohesive retail space by envisioning "Crystal Islands" for the mall, integrating lush greenery that blends between the outdoor and indoor spaces.

The redevelopment will also add 20,000 square meters of leasable space for shopping and dining, where guests and retailers can anticipate more spacious, well-lit corridors, expansive open areas, and loftier ceilings. Parking will be upgraded with over 1,000 additional parking slots.

Additionally, an air-conditioned lush garden with new technology, the ETFE roofing system, will be added as a feature on Level 05. An ideal place to hang out and relax for its tranquil ambiance, this garden aims to bring the outdoors in with rich greenery, abundant natural light, and soothing water features.

This transformation promises to set a new standard in retail and leisure, making SM Megamall not just a shopping destination but an experience to remember.
