2 men shot dead in drinking session in Abra

BANGUED, Abra – Two men were killed during a drinking session in Sitio Barbarit, Barangay Cosili East, this capital town, on Friday night, July 5.

Police Capt. Cerel Gaspili, Bangued deputy chief of police, identified the victims as Kieft Marty B. Batalla, 21, of Barangay Santa Rosa, Peñarrubia, Abra; and Mark Joseph R. Tupasi, 28, of Barangay Bugbog, Bucay, Abra.

Gaspili said the victims were drinking with co-workers in a house when a man appeared and shot them.

The victims sustained bullet wounds in the head and chest and died on the spot.

Police recovered five empty caliber .40 shells and a slug in the crime scene.

Gaspili said that manhunt operations against the suspect are ongoing. He said that they are looking at old grudge as the motive behind the killing.
