ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo City Council will investigate the alleged presence of illegal immigrants here.
Councilor Romel Duron has filed a resolution seeking an inquiry on the alleged illegal activities of undocumented immigrants in this city working for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

“There are reports in Iloilo City that thousands of illegal immigrants are engaging in illegal gambling operations and human trafficking in subdivisions, condominiums, commercial buildings, as fronts for nefarious activities undertaken by organized criminal groups,” said Duron.
Duron noted that 17 Chinese nationals were arrested in Jaro District last November for allegedly operating a cybersex operation.
He called on the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the National Bureau of Immigration (BI), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to shed light on the matter.
