Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez says the "Lab for All" project, headed by First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, will not only provide free health services but also inspire a mindset of giving more importance to health among Filipinos.

Rep. Romualdez, the wife of House Speaker Martin Romualdez, issued this statement following the launching of the Lab for All caravan in Tacloban City, Leyte which they both attended.

“Bukod sa libre o abot-kaya ang serbisyong pangkalusugan na hatid ng Lab for All ni First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, magde-develop din ito ng kultura sa mga Pilipino na pahalagahan ang ating kalusugan,” she said.

(Aside from the free or affordable health services provided by Lab for All of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, it will also develop a culture among Filipinos where health is valued.)

She says that because of hard times, poor Filipinos would rather spend their hard-earned money on food and basic necessities than on services and medicine that promote good health.

“Nakakalungkot pero ito ang realidad natin (It's sad but this is our reality). But I am confident that Lab for All will change this and help prioritize health,” the lady lawmaker added.

The Lab for All caravan offered free consultations, laboratory tests, x-rays, and medicine to indigent patients of Tacloban.

Rep. Romualdez pointed out that these health services are especially important for those located in far-flung areas where quality services are not readily accessible.

“It is all free at malalaman ng bawat nagpapatingin kung may sakit ba sila na dapat tutukan o kung sila ay malusog,” she added.

(It is all free and everyone who gets checked will know if they have a disease that should be addressed or if they are healthy.)

She further expressed her gratitude to First Lady Marcos, wife of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., for taking this initiative across various parts of the country.

“This is another program of the Marcos administration that directly helps the people,” she said.
