King of Talk Boy Abunda expressed his excitement about his godson Bimby Aquino, Kris Aquino's son, who had grown up to be a fine man.

Boy shared his great admiration for the 17-year-old upon learning that he was managing the household in the US while his mom, Kris, sought medical treatment.

During the launch of his latest endorsement for The Kitchen Magic at All Day Supermarket in Libis, Quezon City, on July 5, Boy promised to do everything for Bimby as he is the teen's second parent.

"He's a brilliant kid. Alam niya ang gamot (para sa mommy niya). He's running the house at 15, 16," Boy said. "Ibang-iba doon sa nakikita natin."

Boy revealed that he would have a conversation with Kris and Bimby soon.

"I'm so proud of the boy. He is so bright. I'm a parent. I'm a guardian," the award-winning host said. "Hindi ko pa alam kung ano talaga ang gusto niya."

If ever Bimby decides to join showbiz, Boy said: "Aalagaan ko na lang. Aalalayan ko siya."

"I'm so protective of the boy. Ang hirap pala kapag masyadong close ang relasyon mo sa kanila. But we will sit down one of these days.

"Even if he doesn't ask me to be his manager, I will be. I am not only his manager. I'm his guardian.

"Kung hindi man nila ako gawing guardian ni Bimby, magpupumilit ako. That boy grew up before my eyes," Boy said.

In February, during an appearance on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" via Zoom from California, Kris asked Boy to take care of her children, Bimby and Joshua.

“I just wanna take this opportunity Boy, na magpasalamat sa’yo because nangako ka sa akin, kagaya ng ilan sa pinakamalapit na kaibigan ko at ‘yung mga kapatid kong babae. Nangako sila na kung ano man ang mangyayari, mayroon akong dalawang kaibigan na lilipad dito (US) para samahan yung two boys. I’m entrusting (my kids) with you because the two will be going home in two weeks.

“Why did I decide on this? Kasi naaawa ako doon sa dalawang bata. Ako, makukulong na ako sa bahay. Pupunta na lang ako at lalabas ako para makita yung mga doktor," Kris said.

At the same launch, Boy remembered he had never experienced a children's party on his birthday. Boy said he had already tasted spaghetti when he visited Manila.
