Marcos announced during the distribution of government assistance in Palo, Leyte on Thursday, July 4, that the works for the Tacloban Airport will soon be completed, as well as the construction of the Tacloban City Causeway.

Isa na po rito ang ating patuloy na pagsasaayos ng Tacloban Airport na nagkakahalaga ng higit dalawa at kalahating bilyong piso (I would like to announce the progress of some of the projects that will bring change to your place. One of these is the continuous improvement of the Tacloban Airport amounting to more than P2.5 billion)," Marcos said in his speech.

"[Baka next year pwede na nating inaugurate yung terminal (Maybe next year, we can already inaugurate the terminal)," he added.

Among the works being done for the improvement of the airport, according to the President, include the Passenger Terminal Building, airport runway and additional roads leading to the airport.

We hope that by 2026, these will be completed and will bring better and faster service to the people)," Marcos said.

The President also announced the nearing completion of the Tacloban City Causeway which will shorten the travel time to the airport from the city hall to only five minutes.

These projects are not only for the progress of infrastructures in your place but also to ensure security and peace in your community)," Marcos said.

He added that the government is also constantly deploying more force from the military and police in some places in Leyte to maintain the peace and order in the province.
