VP Sara followers urge PNP chief to step down

DAVAO CITY – Supporters of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte (FPRRD) warned Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil that they will hold him accountable if anything happens to Vice President Sara Duterte.

“The moment Vice President Inday Sara Duterte dropped the bomb exposing your (PNP chief) shenanigans and grave abuse of authority, we have decided we will no longer take everything sitting down,” the FPRRD Supporters said.

In an open letter published on their Facebook page on July 30, the FPRRD Supporters reminded Marbil of the 32 million Filipino people who voted for and supported Vice President Duterte in the 2022 elections and entrusted their lives and future to her.

“Lest you forget, 'Sara Zimmerman Duterte' had the highest number of votes in the country’s electoral history... Not a wimp like you will ever undermine that overwhelming mandate,” they said.

The FPRRD Supporters said that not even Marbil’s alleged lords and masters will ever eliminate the duly elected Vice President from the country’s political landscape, not next year, not in 2028, and not in this lifetime.

“While we understand that you are just a ‘pawn’ in the grand scheme of things, allegedly, we would like to remind you that you took an oath to ‘Serve and Protect’ the Filipino nation,” they said.

They said that Vice President Duterte assured the people that taking most of her security personnel would never be a hindrance in her duty to calm down the irate Filipinos who have witnessed the “blatant disregard of due process and human rights.”

FPRRD Supporters underscored that the PNP chief should be the first to call out Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) personnel who took screenshots of Vice President Duterte and her family's recent departure footage.

The supporters questioned Marbil about the breach of protocols and the right to privacy when Vice President Duterte and her family’s security was compromised following the release of the unauthorized footage of them at NAIA.

They also criticized the PNP chief for sending men to conduct casing at the Vice President’s rented house during their vacation, putting in danger the lives of her children and family. They said Vice President Duterte is a Filipino who deserves fair treatment and equal protection.

“How long will you remain under the influence of those who seem determined to remove the woman who has taken a stand against a troubled administration you are associated with? How can you run after criminals when allegedly you are working for one?” the FPRRD Supporters said.

The FPRRD Supporters also asked about Marbil’s update on the increasing number of missing children and the country’s current crime index. They said that the PNP chief disregarded providing such updates to the Filipino nation.

“Rommel, by not having balls big enough to stand your ground to serve and protect the people, maybe it’s time you sit down in silence and re-evaluate yourself, your future and your legacy. Is this the kind of legacy you want, Rommel Marbil?” the FPRRD Supporters said.

The FPRRD Supporters said that if anything happens to Vice President Duterte, they will storm the highest court of the country to make sure that the PNP chief will pay for his crimes. They urged Marbil to redeem himself and have "delicadeza" or propriety to resign from his post.

Vice President Duterte lashed out on Monday, July 29, at the PNP chief for making false public statements on the reasons behind the withdrawal of 75 police officers from her security team and labeled the move as “political harassment.”

She said that she has no problem with the PNP chief pulling out security personnel from the Office of the Vice President team. She said she has a problem with the “lies presented to the public – especially when the lies come from the highest-ranking police officials.”

The Vice President said the intention would have been good if it was true. However, she said it was suspicious that 38 out of the 75 officers relieved were from Mindanao and transferred to the National Capital Region (NCR).

Marbil refused to respond to the open letter of the Vice President. According to PNP spokesperson Police Col. Jean Fajardo, Marbil no longer wants to comment on the matter as respect to Vice President Duterte.
