DAVAO CITY – Rep. Paolo Z. Duterte on Tuesday, July 30, revealed his achievements in the first half of the year as congressman of the first district here.
Duterte, in an interactive infographic of accomplishments, highlighted five recently authored principal bills and two House resolutions.
Four of these House bills were 9506, an act providing for the establishment of Sangguniang Kabataan hubs in each barangay; 10064, an act establishing a system that protects the community intellectual rights of indigenous cultural communities; 9999, an act to promote greening and forest land rehabilitation and protection on the barangay level, spurring local climate change action; and 9976, an act providing death, disabilities, and accident insurance to barangay officials, watchers, health workers, daycare workers, and other members, increasing their insurance benefits and amending the Republic Act No. 6942.
One of the resolution he authored was 1745 directing the appropriate House committees to investigate, with the help of relevant government agencies, the alleged cases of extrajudicial killings and human rights violations over the past 25 years.
Duterte aided 662 beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment-Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program; provided emergency response to 16,500 flood victims and 271 families affected by fire incidents; gave 11,700 individuals with medical and burial assistance at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) here, 5,707 in private hospitals, and 1,706 with burial assistance.
He also supported 774 cancer patients and 602 SPMC senior citizens with maintenance medicines; 800 college scholars with educational assistance, 24 post-graduate medicine, and six post-graduate law.
Duterte provided 50 roving motorcycles for barangay police in this city.
He helped the ongoing construction of the coastal road and Ma-a bridge and provided services for senior citizen’s associations, religious Muslim groups, solo parent associations, civic groups, and professional associations.
Duterte distributed 108 wheelchairs and 24 tents, accommodated 123 solicitations, served 14,892 hot porridge, distributed 19,329 food packs and another 19,996 food packs with containers, and provided 7,837 packed lunches in emergency situations.
