‘Lab for All': QC residents get free laboratory, medicines, gov’t services


Quezon City residents were provided with free laboratory services, medicines, and other government assistance through the national government’s “Lab for All: Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot Para sa Lahat '' program aimed at ensuring that quality healthcare services are accessible to all Filipinos.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, together with First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, city officials, and executives, led the program held at the Risen Garden in Quezon City Hall. 

The event was also attended by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Popoy De Vera, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) President and CEO Emmanuel Ledesma, and Public Attorney's Office (PAO) Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta.

The program was launched in May last year and initiated by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and the First Lady. It aims to provide community-based healthcare services and supports Republic Act No. 11223, also known as the Universal Health Care Act, by ensuring that quality healthcare reaches people at the local level.

The initiative aims to provide free medical and dental consultations, immunization services that address sexually transmitted infections (STI), and vital sign-blood pressure testing. 

It added that the program also offers free laboratory services such as chest X-rays, electrocardiogram (ECG), and eye checkups. 

As part of the program, the city government also received the "Lab for All" van, which functions as a mobile clinic equipped with X-ray, laboratory/extraction facilities, ECG/ultrasound equipment, and comfort rooms.

The program also included PhilHealth Konsulta registration and seminars, free police clearance, workshops from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), free legal services from PAO, medical and financial assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), and Pag-Ibig loyalty card plus services, including securing savings, cash loans, and affordable housing loans.
