Kuh Ledesma, an excellent and world-class performer, has expanded her creativity into painting with original new ideas. As a painter, she brings the same passion and originality that have defined her singing career, enriching her artwork with passion, mastery, and creativity.
Kuh's story is inspiring. She began painting in high school but had to set it aside due to her studies and, eventually, her career as a professional singer. However, her faith as a Bible believer reignited her passion for painting. The parable convicted her in Matthew 25:14-17 where a man was given talents but chose to bury them. This parable inspired Kuh to return to painting after 40 years. Kuh is determined to hone her craft continuously. She attended private lessons regarding the preparation and protection of her paintings, and since then, she has held five exhibits that have done exceptionally well.
Kuh's dedication has also inspired those close to her. Her brother, now an active painter, has an ongoing exhibit at the Tag 4120 Art Gallery. Her cousin has also started painting. Her long-time assistant and her closest best friend have also taken up painting, influenced by Kuh's passion and success.
Among Kuh's celebrated series are "Talahib" and "Music Instruments," her latest series, “Worship the Vine,” continues her reflection on nature and spirituality, building on the themes of her previous “The Vine and the Branches” series.
Like her paintings, Kuh’s concerts often feature unique, sometimes controversial, and intriguing ideas. For example, her upcoming concert on Aug. 3 at the Winford Hotel, "Kuh Sings Her ABCs," has the audience curious about its meaning. What is it about?
In this concept, she will sing songs from artists or composers whose names start with A, B, and C. Expect to hear her renditions of hits from Adele, Azarcon, and B - Barbra Streisand, Anita Baker, and even Bamboo; and for C there's Canseco, Cayabyab, Carpenters of course, Celine Dion.
After her ABCs, will she take on DEF or even HIJ? With Kuh, the possibilities are endless and always fascinating.
