Dr. Kim Eslava, a 70-year-old former pediatrician at Ospital ng Maynila, almost stole the show with her hip-hop performance at the 2024 G-Force Dance Concert at Theater Solaire in Paranaque City on July 28.
Cheers erupted as soon as Dr. Kim appeared on stage with the performers for the adult hip-hop segment of the show.
"I'm so happy. I am thankful for Teacher Bhe, who inspired and motivated me," said Dr. Kim during an interview backstage after the performance.
Dr. Kim remembered restarting her dance moves after watching her daughter Thea perform at a G-Force concert.
"It all started when my daughter Thea enrolled at G-Force. Then, I met Teacher Georcelle (Dapat-Sy), who invited me to join. I enrolled in March this year.

"Thea and mommy Tina (friend) encouraged me to try hip-hop. They also inspired me. Age is just a number.
"At first, it was hard for me because I knew nothing about hip-hop. But they always told me I could do it— chill-ax lang and enjoy it. So, in March 2024, I enrolled under Teacher Bhe for the Monday and Saturday group. So it was twice a week for one-and-a-half hours for each class," said Dr. Kim.
Prior to dancing again, her doctor advised her: "Just be careful with your movements."
Dr. Kim said her husband, 71, is also a doctor. They have three kids, all of whom are working and have families of their own.

To jump-start her day, Dr. Kim said she walks on the footbridge in Tandang Sora, Quezon City two to three times a week.
"We live in Tandang Sora. So I just walk on the footbridge twice or three times a week. That's my exercise," she said.
Dr. Kim stated that she was prepared to start dancing again after taking a break from it.
"When I was in high school, I participated in school dance programs. However, I had to stop due to medication and family responsibilities. Now I am back to dancing," she said.
