ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Police Regional Office-6 chief, is confident that the new Small Town Lottery (STL) operator in Iloilo will curb illegal gambling in the province.

Wanky confirmed that Eagle Roar Gaming Corp. has started STL operations in Iloilo. “With the existence of the legal operator, we can lessen illegal gambling,” Wanky said.
Iloilo, which consists of 42 towns and the component city of Passi, has not had a licensed STL operator for some time after the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) closed 7 Aces Games and Amusement Corp.
Then Iloilo police chief Police Col. Ronaldo Palomo was warned and replaced by Police Col. Bayani Razalan for alleged non-performance in the campaign against illegal gambling.
The alleged non-performance of Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) surfaced after 7 Aces Games and Amusement Corp. was shut down.
Wanky said he recently met PCSO General Manager Mel Robles and expressed support to the new STL operator in Iloilo.
The PRO-6 chief assured that they will still be vigilant against illegal gambling amid the presence of a new STL operator in Iloilo.
Police arrested 307 individuals and seized P73,000 in bet money in 106 anti-illegal gambling operations in Western Visayas from July 1 to 27.
