Malabon LGU continues food packs distribution to 5,808 flood-affected families

The Malabon City government announced on Tuesday, July 30, that it continued the distribution of food packs and relief goods to 5,808 flood-affected families in the city.

According to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Office, as of July 29, a total of 1,803 families or 9,15 individuals who were staying at evacuation centers, received food packs. The packs contained rice, canned goods, water, coffee, and other essential necessities.
Around 4,005 families, or 20,025 individuals, who stayed in their homes during the heavy rains also received food packs.

The city government also provided “Libreng Sakay” trucks to assist 1,500 individuals who were stranded during the typhoon.
Meanwhile, the local government launched its third “Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan” in several barangays on Monday, July 29.
The program, which will run until August 3, offers various services including medical and dental consultations, nutrition services, family planning, psychosocial support, and legal consultations.


The local government distributed 100 hygiene kits and provided 725 hot meals through a mobile kitchen to residents who participated in the caravan.
Moreover, over 800 city government employees and volunteers joined the rescue and relief operations to support residents during the severe flooding.
“Naipakita nating mga Malabueño ang pagmamalasakit sa bawat isa noong dumaan ang sakuna. Ito ay nagpapatunay ng ating pagtutulungan, bayanihan lalo na sa panahon na kinakailangan (We, as Malabueños, have demonstrated our care for each other during the calamity. This proves our spirit of cooperation and bayanihan, especially when needed),” City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said.
“Ang ating pamahalaang lungsod ay patuloy na magbibigay ng mga programa para sa inyo upang makatulong sa pagbangon mula sa epekto ng malakas na ulan. Makakaasa po kayong hindi titigil ang pamahalaang lungsod sa pagtulong sa lahat ng nangangailangan (Your local government will continue to provide recovery programs to those affected by heavy rains. You can count on the city government to keep supporting everyone in need),” she added.
