Fridays Puerto Galera plans multimillion facelift for 2025

Luxury resort Fridays Puerto Galera announced plans to expand and modernize its facilities next year while keeping its Filipino style in an eco-friendly way.

Romeo Co, Fridays Puerto Galera general manager, said the multi-million expansion projects will include a new conference hall, beach club, pool bar, wellness cabanas, a game room, and a jungle gym for kids.

Co said these new developments aim to enhance the guest experience by combining modern comforts with the resort's natural surroundings.

Although the exact budget was not disclosed, Co said these improvements will offer a fresh take on luxury hospitality at Fridays Puerto Galera, located in the UNESCO-protected Muelle Bay in Boquete Island, Mindoro.

“This expansion project is made to combine modern conveniences with sustainable principles reflecting a contemporary Filipino aesthetic,” Co said in a statement.

“Our aim is to be a preferred MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) resort in Puerto Galera, Mindoro Province,” he added.

DXL Architectural Design Services was tapped for these projects, Co said.

Another project in the pipeline is the building of a private Pier Dock for the resort's guests arriving from Berberabe or the Batangas City Main Port.

“Our aim is to enhance further the resort’s offerings. The construction of a new Conference Hall is set to host corporate meetings, group gatherings and where special occasions can take place amidst the beauty of the landscape,” Co said.

Fridays Beach Club, previously known as Fridays Crusoe Restaurant, is preparing to provide a completely fresh Filipino-inspired dining atmosphere.

Additionally, they plan to include a Game Room for guests seeking a balance between work and leisure.

“After long meetings or during breaks, guests can relax and have fun amidst various recreational activities aimed at promoting team building and camaraderie,” Co said.

“Fridays Puerto Galera also intends to provide a holistic experience through various wellness offerings such as yoga and meditation sessions; as well as improving our spa facilities for guests’ total relaxation and well-being,” he added.

Fridays Puerto Galera which opened in 2018 currently has 24 rooms and suites.
