NAGTIPUNAN, Quirino – Four persons were killed and three were injured when a boom truck plunged into a 10-meter deep ravine in Barangay Sangbay, Nagtipunan, Quirino on Saturday afternoon, July 27.

Police Master Sgt. Mark Odilon Peralta of the Nagtipunan Police Station identified the victims as Florante Barayuga, 44, driver of the truck and a resident of Barangay San Andres, Santiago City, Isabela; his passengers Daisy Regaton of Dinapigue, Isabela; and foreman Rogelio Neverio and welder Henry Baldoza, both residents of Bulan, Camarines Sur.
Peralta said the truck loaded with construction materials and seven individuals on board lost its brakes while negotiating a downward sharp curve portion of the road.
The truck plunged into a ravine. Four persons killed and three other passengers were injured – Engineer Marco Valdez and security guard Marbil Medes, both residents of Barangay Sta. Rosa, Santiago City; and Sonny Regatan of Dinapigue, Isabela.
The injured are recovering in a hospital.
Police reminded drivers to check their vehicles before traveling to avoid fatal accidents.
