Woman strangled to death by live-in partner

A woman died after her live-in partner allegedly strangled her during their quarrel, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported on Wednesday, July 3.

The MPD Malate Police Station identified the suspect as Jhunrey Bastasa, 33, a resident of Gumamela Street, Malate, Manila.

According to the police, the suspect went to the MPD Adriatico precinct in Malate on Tuesday, July 2, to report that he killed his live-in partner.

The police went to the house of the couple and found the lifeless body of the victim identified as Flordeliza Ondocon, 27.

A medical attendant from the Manila Disaster Risk and Reduction Office (DRRMO) arrived at the scene to confirm the victim's death.

Based on the initial investigation, the suspect told the police that they had a quarrel on Monday night, July 1.

He also said that he committed the crime because he lost control of his emotions.

The case was turned over to the MPD Homicide Section. 

Authorities said the suspect will face homicide charges.
