PH Blu Girls smash Hong Kong for second win in Canada Cup

It was the Cebuana Lhuillier-bankrolled Blu Girls’ second win in a row following an opening day 5-1 triumph over New Zealand that kept them near the top of Pool A and closer to having a shot at making the playoff phase.

The Ana Santiago-mentored Nationals were battling the dangerous Canadians, who were likewise unscathed in two starts, for the solo lead in their bracket.

Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) President Jean Henri Lhuillier couldn't be prouder of this back-to-back triumph.

“The RP Blu Girls is showing the world they mean business,” said Lhuillier. “They have come prepared, mentally and physically and continue to prove why our softball team is the highest ranked Filipino team sport in the world.”

The Blu Girls will battle the Israelis on Thursday, July 4, and the Mexicans Friday, July 5.

The playoff round is set Friday to Sunday.
