P1.2-M marijuana recovered in Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga â€“ Police recovered 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves weighing 10 kilos worth P1.2 million in Barangay Cagaluan, Pasil, Kalinga on Monday.

Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, spokesperson of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, said a man driving a motorcycle sped past a checkpoint in Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga.

Lawmen chased the suspect for about two kilometers but failed to apprehend him. However, the suspect left behind a bag beside the highway.

Police opened the bag and found the contraband.

Manganip said that they are pursuing the courier.
