Office of the President to award Northern Samar PEDIPO on July 10
TACLOBAN CITY – The Office of the President will award the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partner to the Northern Samar Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office in Malacañang on July 10.

The recognition which falls under the category of creating and improving business climate cites the PEDIPO for revolutionizing the business climate in the province and drawing billions of investments.
PEDIPO was established as a full-fledged department committed to enhancing the province's economic landscape in 2021.
Gov. Edwin Ongchuan spearheaded the strategic measures to foster a business-friendly environment focusing on the creation of the Provincial Green Lane, an initiative designed to streamline investment procedures and expedite business permits to create a newly improved investment landscape in the province.
PEDIPO has extended partnerships with the Board of Investments (BOI) to ensure seamless promotion and facilitation of investment processes and enhancing Northern Samar's attractiveness on the global investment map.
The Local Investment and Incentives Code (LIIC) was revised to meet evolving business needs and provide competitive incentives.
Among PEDIPO's achievements are the secured multi-billion peso projects in the renewable energy sector like the on-shore wind energy projects by Venna Corp. and Aboitiz Energy and proposals for a P108 billion off-shore wind project.
John Allen Berbon, PEDIPO chief, said the recognition not only validates their dedication but also serves as a catalyst for further investments, ultimately boosting the economy and creating opportunities for all people in the province.
"Through strategic initiatives such as the Provincial Green Lane and fostering partnerships with entities like the Board of Investments, Gov. Ongchuan and NS-PEDIPO have revolutionized the business climate, drawing billions in investments and solidifying Northern Samar as a beacon of progress under his visionary stewardship," Berbon said.
