The MPL Philippines Season 13 champions played like a well-oiled machine and dominated the Saudi Arabian team in the two-game sweep that put them atop the Group A standings in the opening day of the Esports World Cup.

The Filipinos utilized Lou Yi’s Diversion ultimate to perfection, taking full control of the map with their ambush plays – including one that allowed them to pick off two heroes of the Saudi Arabian squad.

Fully asserting their map presence, Benedict “BennyQt” Gonzales on the Moskov then utilized his ultimate to travel all the way to the opposite side of the map to add another casualty on the side of Twisted Mind.

Another Diversion ultimate triggered the massive clash that completed a wipe out on the Saudi Arabians for 17-7 series opening win.

BennyQT provided the tip to Liquid ECHO’s spear with a 9-2-4 line while Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz added a 0-2-12.

Not letting up were the Filipinos in the second game as Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno on the Ling dictated the tempo as Liquid ECHO scored a 19-8 close out in Game 2.

The M4 World Champions went off to a hot start and seized a gold lead that went to as high as 7k. Twisted Minds gambled on a Lord steal at the 10th minute mark but it was punished by TLPH who scored a four-man wipe to end the contest.

Karltzy dazzled with a perfect 7-0-6 KDA while Alston “Sanji” Pabico amply supported him with a 5-3-8 line on the midlane Valentina pick.
