“I am thankful to our President, His Excellency Ferdinand 'Bongbong' R. Marcos Jr., for having Sen. Angara as the new DepEd Secretary,” said Dr. Ernesto F. Servillon Jr., officer-in-charge for the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) in Iloilo province.

He oversees the public school system in the province's 42 towns and the component city of Passi.

Servillon said that Angara’s appointment will strengthen the partnership between DepEd-Iloilo, DepEd-Iloilo City, the provincial government of Iloilo, the city government of Iloilo, and the office of the senator on the Proof of Concept on the Devolution of Specific Functions of Basic Education to Local Governments.

“This engagement (of his office) to the education sector is a strong indicator that he could lead the department to greater heights,” said Servillon.

“I am happy and I feel comfortable with Sen. Angara as our new Secretary,” added Servillon.
